Fundraise for Brake!

Help Brake prevent road deaths and injuries, and support victims of road crashes, by fundraising during Road Safety Week. Fundraising helps us campaign for safe and healthy mobility for all and support people affectred by road death and serious injury.

Many organisations, schools and individuals run fundraising activities during the Week as a fun, lively way to promote road safety within their community. You could do something as simple as organising a bake sale or go to town by organising a team-building day with a charitable focus – ever thought of parachuting, bungee jumping or abseiling for Brake?

You can register to take part in Road Safety Week 2020 now. Meanwhile, here are some great ideas for how you can get started with your fundraising.

Get active!

Regular physical activity is vital for healthy hearts and minds and strong bodies, as well as being great fun. This makes it an ideal way to encourage people to raise money. You could organise a sponsored walk, invite a local gym to run a sponsored step class, or organise a charity football or rugby match. You could even theme your activity around our Road Safety Week theme! For example, in 2019 Brake encouraged people to Step up for Safe Streets and organise a 10,000 step fundraising challenge.

Make Brake your Charity of the Year

COTY Logo

Brake is proud to do a lot with limited resources, but we need help to do more. Ask your boss or a local business to show they value people and their welfare by choosing Brake as their Charity of the Year. There is something for everyone to get involved with and together we can make roads safer for everyone. Find out more on the Brake website.

Brake Ball

Social media bannerEach year Brake hosts its annual charity Ball - an unforgettable evening of fun, food and fundraising, all in aid of raising vital funds to help us continue our dedicated work preventing road death and injury and supporting those who have been bereaved or injured in road crashes.

Preparations for 2020's Brake Ball are still underway, but you will be able to find more information when it is available here.

Bake for Brake

bakeoffGrab your apron and hold a Bake for Brake fundraiser. Making a load of cupcakes is the simplest thing in the world, but everyone loves them, particularly if they know their extra calorie intake is all in a good cause.

You can have your own one-off sale, or sell tasty treats during a big event, such as a school fete, coffee morning or charity night. And why not hold a pay-to-enter baking competition for your friends or colleagues? Helen, right, has been Baking for Brake for the past few years. Read her story.
