Make a Road Safety Week display
Road Safety Week is a great opportunity to discuss safe, sustainable travel not only with your students, but with parents and other visitors to your school as well.
One way to make an impact is by creating a colourful display in your classroom, assembly hall, reception area or a corridor. This activity can be done by children of all ages – for example, after discussing why it’s important to hold hands with an adult when walking by a road, preschool children can make a collage of handprints under a “We hold hands” banner. For older children, you could download the Brake Promise sheets from our action pack, getting the children to write and draw their own Road Safety Week Promise.
The Road Safety Week action pack also contains posters that you can use to decorate your school for the Week.
